DURAN® Plate Holder

Abdominal vessels are called flasks in the laboratory and, in addition to beakers, are other universally applicable vessels. They are used e.g. for distillation or for heating liquids. In addition to the commonly used multi-neck flasks, Engler flasks can also be used for distillations. This type of distillation flask has a fixed side arm, inclined at 75 degrees, which is attached to the neck of the flask. Via this side arm, the steam is led into a cooler where it finally condenses to the distillate. Thermometers can be introduced via the neck of the flask. An integrated grounded joint ensures a tight closure of the apparatus.

DURAN® Plate Holder

for glass ceramic laboratory protection plate
    • Manufactured from heat-resistant chrome-nickel steel

Product Overview

In the laboratory, solutions are often heated. This step can be carried out using different techniques, e.g. in a water or sand bath, with a heating hood or classically using a Bunsen burner. If the Bunsen burner is used as the heat source, it is recommended to use a tripod or square foot and a corresponding glass ceramic plate. The vessel to be heated is placed on the glass ceramic plate with the Bunsen burner underneath. Contamination of the glass ceramic plate can be removed with the cleaning scraper.
